Traditional Games That Promote Kids' Fitness

Fitness that begins in childhood lasts a lifetime. If children start at a young age, learning to be physically fit and exercise, they will lead healthy, happy lives and avoid the plague known as obesity.

Let's talk about some games and activities that promote physical fitness in kids. First, there are the basic sporting activities that most kids enjoy, including
•basketball

•bicycling

•ice-skating

•in-line skating

•soccer

•swimming

•tennis

•walking

•jogging

•running

If you can encourage your kids to participate in team sports like the ones above (either participating in a school or local league, or just playing for fun) they will be much more likely to stay healthy as they grow older.

Next, there are the classic children's games that everyone grew up playing:

•Simon says

•Freeze Tag

•Hide-and-go-seek

•Red Rover

•Red Light, Green Light

•4 Square

•Jump Rope

You can also find activities in your daily life that encourage physical fitness.

Go "extreme walking" where you and your kids see how funny they can walk. Hop like a bunny. Stretch like a cat. Run like a bear. Walk like a spider.

Shovel snow

Weed the garden

Take out the trash

Go get the mail

You see- it's easy to encourage physical fitness in your kids when you know the right type of games or activities to involve them in. So go have fun!
