Making Christmas Gifts from Family Photos: Without Spending A Lot of Money

When Christmas time rolls around most people begin to think about all of the people they want to give Christmas gifts to. More than likely most people think about their family members and what they want to get them. But with the economy the way it is many people do not have as much money as they wish they did to spend on Christmas gifts.

One great way for a person to not spend money but still give great Christmas gifts is to use family photos in the Christmas gift. This article discusses several ideas for Christmas gifts that use family photos and how to save money when making them.

Gift ideas

There are many different Christmas gift ideas that use family photos. And many of these do not take a lot of money. Here are some ideas for Christmas gift ideas for each member of the family.

For Mom and Dad

There are a variety of great Christmas gift ideas that a person can make using family photos for their Mom and Dad. For example, for their Mom they can make a personalized cookbook. This cookbook can include her favorite recipes a long with pictures of the family enjoying the food their Mom makes. Another great idea would be putting a family picture on an apron or a mug.

Dad could help the kids make jewelry for their Mother, such as a charm bracelet or a necklace that includes pictures of all of the children. And they could even put a family picture on a jewelry box.

There are some great ideas for Dad too. A family picture or pictures of Dad could be put on an apron as well if he likes to cook or grill. They could put family pictures on a necktie, boxers, or a T-shirt. Another good idea would be making Dad a personalized calendar with pictures of each person in the family on their birthdays and family pictures on each month of the year.

For the kids

There are also Christmas gift ideas for the kids too. For example, a parent could make their child a scrapbook of their past school year or the family vacation they went on. If the child likes to cook they may also like a personalized apron or cookbook. And a pillowcase with the kids picture on it is also a fun idea.

Alternative

There are many photo websites that offer services to people who would like to purchase them. These services include making Christmas gifts using family photos. While these services can be great, they can also cost a lot of money; or at least it will cost more money than it would take for a person to make the Christmas gift themselves.

So as an alternative to using the gift making services available on the photo websites, a person can make many of the Christmas gifts using family pictures on their own. It will take more time and effort for a person to make them on their own, but not only will the person save money, but they will learn a new skill and also make the Christmas gift that much more personal.

Most craft stores sell things like Mod Podge, iron-on transfer paper, charm bracelets, wooden jewelry boxes, and the other supplies that a person would need to make their Christmas gifts using family pictures. After a person uploads their digital pictures to their computer they can order prints or print them off using their own printer and then begin making their Christmas gifts.
